The Kingdom of God

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God

The Kingdom of God is a hidden city and full of resources that the everyday Christian will need. First, we’re commanded to seek the Kingdom of God and return God’s protection and reward will be upon us openly.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Let’s look at the word seek in Hebrew, Beqar meaning to inquire, look for, seek. The Kingdom of God is a real place and with its own culture. As we begin to seek we take on the culture or ways of the Kingdom of God.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Psalms 103:7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

The first thing God desires to give us is His wisdom, how can one manage anything properly without Gods wisdom? Your ministry can only go as far as the level of wisdom you contain. He said if any man lack wisdom, let him ask God for it. When we lack wisdom, the ministry in us lacks.

There’s man wisdom, which is of the world, and there’s divine, heavenly wisdom from the Kingdom of God. When we are endowed with His wisdom something very powerful begins to happen. We make the right choices in life. Yes, this is the righteousness of God overflowing from us. By asking and crying out for God’s wisdom sets us up to play a major role in the welfare of the Kingdom.

I believe that Matthew 6: 33 is connected to everything in life that God would have us experience. Psalms  37:23 “for the footsteps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord.” Even Joseph experienced good and bad of being thrown down a well and placed in prison. But yet he was endowed with great wisdom. The life of Pharaoh and his people came into a season of famine, but yet the solution on how to overcome it came from the Kingdoms of God, through Joseph. Pharaoh had no choice but to look for a man endowed with wisdom and Joseph was his only choice.

Wisdom should be the first thing we ask God for.

Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

James 1;5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Kings and Queens rule by wisdom!

Proverbs 8:15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

Proverbs 8:16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

By seeking the Kingdom of God, we will become true ambassadors for Christ.

2 corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
